Darkrise - Pixel Action RPG is a hardcore action RPG built in nostalgic pixel style by two indie developers. Choose from four distinct classes—Mage, Warrior, Archer, and Rogue—each with unique skills, mechanics, and playstyles. Master your chosen class's strengths and learn to work around its weaknesses as you progress through an invaded homeland overrun by goblins, undead creatures, demons, and rival nations.

Explore roughly 100 locations across three difficulty settings. Enemies spawn continuously in front of you and emerge from randomly appearing portals throughout each stage. Every enemy type has distinct behaviors and powers; rare "defective" variants appear unpredictably with randomized stats, keeping combat unpredictable and demanding constant adaptation. The action demands speed and awareness—standing still leaves you vulnerable.

Combat delivers visceral feedback: the camera shakes on impact, strikes flash across the screen, health numbers drop with satisfying animation, and defeated enemies scatter loot across the battlefield. Both you and your foes move fast, requiring constant movement and tactical positioning to survive.

Grow stronger through deep equipment progression. Eight equipment types are distributed across six rarity tiers. Socket gems into your armor to customize your build, then combine identical gems to forge upgraded versions. Visit the town smith to enchant your equipment or reforge pieces for enhanced power.
